Notes From the Rep Biz ~ 9/18/2026

At WME:

Actor Simu Liu is now agented by WME. Hailing from Canada, Liu started his career as an extra and stuntman with parts in Pacific Rim, Nikita, Sick: Survive the Night, and Heroes: Reborn. His first starring role was as Jung Kim in CBC sitcom Kim’s Convenience. But he is best known for his playing Shang Chi in the MCU first appearing in 2021’s Shang Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings and his role as a rival Ken in 2023’s smash hit Barbie. This past February, Liu made his Broadway debut in Oh, Mary! Next up he will reprise his role as Shang Chi in Avengers: Doomsday and will star in sci-fi thriller Homewrecker opposite Allison Williams and Michelle Randolph. Marvel recently announced that a Shang Chi sequel was put into development as well.  

Host and journalist Josh McBride is also now repped by WME. McBride is the host behind the podcast The McBride Rewind where he interviews 90’s and 2000’s pop culture icons such as Whoopi Goldberg, Ja Rule, Jodie Sweetin, Christine Taylor, and Andrew Keegan.

Actress and influencer Jordyn Lucas is also a new sign for WME. Lucas’ big claim to fame was in the 2018 horror film Black Pumpkin from there she’s made guest appearances on S.W.A.T., Family Reunion, Room 104, and The Goldbergs. Additionally she has become a major digital influencer with her channel Genie From the Block.

At CAA:

Actor Keen Ruffalo is a new sign for CAA. Ruffalo is the son of actor Mark Ruffalo, but has been steadily carving a name for himself with roles in the Lee Kirk Green Day film Nimrods, but has been gaining a significant amount of fans for his portrayal of Connor Jacobson in Amazon’s YA mystery series Sterling Point from Megan Park. The series follows Conor and his twin Annie (Ella Rubin) after they inherit a mysterious Canadian island.

Carter Gregory is also a new sign for the Death Star. Gregory is a former music executive whose pivot to digital influencer and podcaster has netted him over a million followers. On his podcast The Set List, Gregory interviews a plethora of actors, producers, and musicians. On Instagram and TikTok he features short videos with rising stars. 

At UTA:

UTA has signed actor Maxwell Jenkins. Jenkins’ first claim to fame was on Netflix’s Lost In Space reboot from 2018 where he played Will Robinson. After Space he’s appeared in the films Arkadian opposite Nicolas Cage and Joe Bell starring Mark Wahlberg. Jenkins played the younger version of Jack Reacher on Amazon’s Reacher, and will be next seen as Fred Jones in the new live action Scooby Doo series called Scooby Doo: Origins for Netflix and set to drop in 2027.

Actor Toby Kebbell is also a new sign for the agency. Kebbell got his start on the film Dead Man’s Shoes in 2004 which landed him a Most Promising Newcomer nomination at the British Independent Film Awards. From there he made appearances in Oliver Stone’s Alexander, Woody Allen’s Match Point, and Guy Ritchie’s RocknRolla. He also played Koba in 2014’s Dawn of the Planet of the Apes and Doctor Doom in 2015’s Fantastic Four reboot. More recently Kebbel has a starring role in Apple TV’s For All Mankind and will next be seen on the big screen in I Play Rocky as producer Robert Chartoff.

According to Deadline, agent and partner Josh Katz has left UTA. It is unclear where he will end up next, but it is speculated that he will pivot to management. His list includes: Rhea Seehorn, Bill Hader and Bobby Moynihan. 

OTHER NOTES AROUND TOWN

Agent Dani Jacobson has left THE·TEAM and has set up shop at Untitled as a manager. Jacobson’s clients include Andrew Licout, Kate Steinberg, and Rod Thill who are all believed to be joining her at her new gig.

TikToker Skyelar Chase is now repped by Innovative Artists. Chase is a lifestyle content creator and boasts over 2.5 million followers across her socials and posts content about all things luxury.

Trinity herself, Carrie-Anne Moss is now agented by Verve. Moss is best known for her role as the iconic character Trinity in the four Matrix films (The Matrix, The Matrix Reloaded, The Matrix Revolutions, and The Matrix Resurrections). More recently she starred opposite Arnold Schwarzenegger in Netflix’s action comedy FUBAR. She also starred in the Star Wars prequel series The Acolyte and had a recurring role on Marvel’s Jessica Jones, Daredevil, Iron Fist, and The Defenders. 

MUSIC NOTES

Deadmau5 is now repped by Independent Artist Group. Hailing from Canada, Deadmau5 (AKA Joel Zimmerman) is an EDM superstar who broke onto the scene in 2008 with his album Random Album Title and his star has only risen from there, moving into the video game, digital content creation, and film composing spheres.

Paladin Artists has signed singer, songwriter, and musician Carsie Blanton. A true independent artist, Blanton has self released all her albums since her debut in 2005. Blanton launched a North American tour this month which will run until November 8th.

Alt rock band Culture Wars is now repped by THE·TEAM. The band has been making waves releasing their debut album Don’t Speak this past April and hitting the touring circuit hard playing with Keane, Maroon 5, and Amy Shark among others. The band just kicked off the third leg of their 2026 world tour this month. Hit singles include; “Typical Ways,” and “It Hurts”

SPORTS NOTES

Speaking of THE·TEAM the agency has signed Memphis Grizzlies point guard Javon Small.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Josh Williams and Carolina Panthers Defensive end  Anthony Goodlow are both now repped by TRI Sport Agency.

Seattle Storm guard Zia Cooke is now agented by The Fam Sports.

CASTING NOTES

According to Deadline, John Mulaney is in talks to join a Get Smart reboot for Warner Brothers from writer Seth Grahame-Smith. This would be the second reboot of Get Smart (created by Mel Brooks and Buck Henry) which ran from 1965-1970, the first came in 2008 and starred Steve Carell, Dwayne Johnson, and Anne Hathaway.

Marvel just keeps dropping X-Men casting bits! Asa Germann will be playing Warren Worthington III aka Angel in the new X-Men movie from Marvel Studios directed by Jake Schreier. Germann is not new to the world of superheroes as he played super strong Sam Riordan in Amazon’s The Boys spinoff Gen V.

Comedians Saidah Belo-Osagie and Grace Reiter will be joining season 52 of NBC’s Saturday Night Live.  Belo-Osagie is a filmmaker and stand up comedian hailing from Queens, NY, she created the live event series Afrobeats Futura exploring the impact of Afrobeats music. Additionally her solo show Saidah Gets Closure premiered this past April, and she wrote and directed the short film Tinge. Reiter was a member of the TikTok sketch show Stapleview and has had roles in HBO’s The Chair Company, and Netflix’s upcoming mockumentary Minimum Wage. 

ARTIST OF THE MONTH

Sometimes an actor shoots into the stratosphere instantly and other times it takes several memorable roles in many different projects for an artist to become a big star. In the case of Adria Arjorna she’s been steadily working in high profile projects since 2015 with stints on True Detective, Person of Interest, Emerald City, and Good Omens. However, it wasn’t until 2020 that audiences and Hollywood really caught on to Arjorna’s star-making turns, with memorable roles in the Star Wars series Andor, and Richard Linklater’s Hit Man opposite Glen Powell.  

This year Arjorna made her action movie bonafides known, playing the PTSD stricken Celeste in Adam Wingard's Onslaught (which she also executive produced). Her powerful physical performance set her on the map alongside iconic action heroines such as Linda Hamilton and Sigourney Weaver. 

Next year not only will she be in Michael B. Jordan's Thomas Crown Affair remake, but also James Gunn’s hotly anticipated Superman follow-up, Man of Tomorrow. Her role at present is undisclosed, but rumors are swirling that she could be playing Wonder Woman. No matter who Arjorna ends up playing in the superhero sequel, one thing is for certain she’s definitely heading for the top. She is repped by CAA, Anonymous Content, and Brillstein Entertainment Partners.
