Box Office Round-Up ~ 9/14/26

Spider-Man: Brand New Day’s ascension to becoming the highest grossing domestic release ever will have to wait another week, as Practical Magic 2 debuted atop the box office, unseating the webslinger in his seventh weekend in theaters. The long-awaited Nicole Kidman/Sandra Bullock sequel opened to a $30 million gross, while Spider-Man moved to second place with $8.4 million. It just needs a little less than $2 million to pass Star Wars: The Force Awakens on the all-time list.

In third place, The Odyssey grossed $7.5 million to reach $600 million domestically, officially the highest-grossing movie in Universal’s history. Alan Ritchson-led actioner Runner debuted in fourth place with $6.4 million, while Coyote vs. Acme moved to fifth place with $6.1 million for a $47 million domestic gross over three weekends.

This coming weekend is highlighted by Barbarian and Weapons director Zach Cregger’s reboot of Resident Evil, Aardman Animation’s Shaun the Sheep: The Beast of Mossy Bottom and Saoirse Ronan-led dark comedy Bad Apples.
