Box Office Round-Up ~ 2/23/26

None of this past weekend’s new releases were enough to unseat last week’s winners, though the specific top two switched spots in their sophomore weekend. GOAT moved up to first place with $16.8 million, while Wuthering Heights moved down to second with $14 million, putting both movies just short of $60 million overall domestically so far.

I Can Only Imagine 2 was the only new release to crack the top five, taking third place with $7.7 million. It’s a far cry from the original I Can Only Imagine’s $24.4 million, but that was back in distant theatrical past of 2018, when $24 million wasn’t as hard to reach. In fourth place, Crime 101 had a sharp 61% drop to $5.5 million, while Send Help took fifth place with $4.4 million after four weekends in theaters. It’s now the highest-grossing film of director Sam Raimi’s that doesn’t involve wizards or Peter Parker.

The final weekend of February takes things up a notch with just one major new release in Scream 7, along with the wide expansion of Baz Luhrmann’s EPiC: Elvis Presley in Concert, which debuted earlier this month in IMAX and grossed an impressive $10,000 per screen last weekend.
